It is my great pleasure to be playing with Grant and Dave again.
I used to play regularly with these guys in other groups before I got involved in Uncle Harry's Wire Choir and it
feels good to come full circle again.
Of course they have both picked up much new repertoire which they are eager to share,
as well as enthusiastically learning my
original tunes and contributing their own. The instrumentation available with this group is as varied as the repertoire: My acoustic and electric basses fill out the bottom, as well I can create the groove through foot percussion when we are in trio or duo mode; Grant is a local guitar guru who realizes his considerable harmonic inclinations with an amazing plethora of instruments, tone shaping, and techniques to vary his timbre; Dave has the three main saxophones at his disposal as well as flute, keyboard and incidental percussion. These forces can be augmented in certain situations with Drummer Greg Hill who gigs locally with various groups. It is also possible, when economics or a more intimate listening situation requires a smaller group, to book one of the three functioning duos within the trio. - Grahame Edwards - June, 2008
